CobbleStay Frequently Asked Questions

Choosing the Right Paris Vacation Rental for you

What are some advantages to staying in an apartment while I vacation in Paris?

Our guests love the extra space you have when you stay in an apartment. There is room to spread out.You aren’t toppling over each other and your suitcases.

Being able to cook some (if not all) of your meals in the apartment kitchen offers many benefits; it is cost effective, it allows you to shop the local fresh markets and cook what you buy (so French!), it makes travel much easier if your children are along for the trip and sometimes you just don’t want the hassle or formality of dining out three times a day.

Staying in an apartment makes you feel more like a “Paris Insider”. You get to know the local businesses, learn a few shortcuts through the neighborhood and live like a local.

You get much for value for your dollar renting an apartment vs. staying in a hotel.

I have never been to Paris, how can I choose the right apartment?

Our Reservation Specialists are thoroughly knowledgeable about each of our apartments and know exactly what questions to ask to make sure you stay in the right place. Please call us at 1-800-608-6548. Read our articles to learn more about Paris, areas to stay, play and how to live like a local. To learn some great “insider tips” to Paris, make sure to read our blog. Our blog is filled with advice on packing for Paris, restaurant reviews, book reviews, ideas on places to see with the family, romantic tips, great pictures, guest posts from clients and Paris residents, recipes and special events in Paris.

What is the minimum length of stay?

Most stays are 4 nights or more. However, just send us an email for a shorter stay and we will send you a quote.

How far in advance do I need to book my apartment in Paris?

If you have specific dates that you want to secure, the sooner you book them the better. It should be noted that travel to Paris is very popular around Easter, Christmas, New Year’s Eve and Fashion Week. Summer is always very busy.

How can I find out if a property I want is available?

You can view availability on any of the property pages or give us a call at 1-800-608-6548.

Do you have video tours available of the apartments?

We have a YouTube Channel with virtual tours of most of our properties.

Can I see a map of all of your apartments?

Yes, you may see a map here.

All of our apartments have free Wi-Fi and you may make unlimited phone calls to the United States and Europe from the apartment phone.

Do I have to pay a cleaning fee?

No, departure cleaning is included in the price of your rental.

Do I have to pay my full reservation amount when I book my apartment?

Do you offer travel insurance?

Yes we do and we HIGHLY recommend it! So many things can happen prior to your departure that are out of your control. Not only can you or someone in your family get sick, but your job situation can change, a volcano could erupt, or an unplanned event could arise. Once you are in Paris, your luggage could be delayed or lost, you could need emergency medical care/transportation or your trip could be interrupted by an emergency at home. We offer a very comprehensive insurance plan that is very affordable. You can read more about it HERE and after you purchase it, you have up to 10 days to cancel it if you decide that you do not want it as long as you have not left on your trip or have filed a claim.

We have a group of more than four travelers. Do you have apartments that are close to each other?

Yes, we do have apartments that are close to each other to accommodate larger groups of guests. Please call our Reservation Desk to see what is available at 1-800-608-6548.

We are traveling with small children. Do you allow children in the apartments?

We believe that staying in an apartment is one of the best ways to travel to Paris for a family. Many of our apartments are child friendly and many even have baby equipment available upon request. Please call our Reservation Specialist so that they can tell you which apartment will be right for you and your family.

Can you help me plan the rest of my trip to Paris?

While we do not currently book air travel, we can help you plan some exciting things to do and see while you are in Paris. Please talk to our Reservation Specialist about what we offer at 1-800-608-6548.

Arrival Process - Once You are in Paris

What time can I check into my apartment?

Check in time is 4:00 pm. We realize that many flights from the US arrive early in the morning and have a few suggestions for that possibility:

  • A. If you want to be guaranteed early entry into the apartment, we suggest that you reserve the apartment for the night prior to your arrival. This is best for those flights that arrive into Paris between 6 and 8 am.
  • B. Sometimes your apartment is not occupied the night before your arrival and we can offer you a guaranteed early entry in (before 4pm) for 50 % of a nightly stay price. This is subject to availability and must be booked 1 week prior to your arrival. This is best for the mid-day flights into Paris.
  • C. A great option is to reserve our concierge service. The concierge will meet you at a pre-determined place (usually a hotel) and help you find a place to store your luggage (usually you will need to tip a bell staff to do this for you, so please have some euros handy). Then you will take a 1.5 hour tour of the neighborhood surrounding your apartment. This is a great way to learn where you will shop for food, the local Metro stops and other things you may need while in Paris. You can discuss reservations that you want the concierge to book for you and other plans you may need to arrange through them. This is a great way to spend the first part of your first day in Paris and we highly recommend it! Please ask your CobbleStay booking agent about this service.

I’m arriving to Paris early in the morning, since check in isn’t until 4pm, what can I do with my luggage?

Please read our information given under “What time can I check in to the apartment?” If you choose not to pay the early check in fee, we recommend purchasing our concierge service. Not only will you have someone to book reservations for you, help plan your itinerary and answer questions about Paris, but a 1.5 hour tour around the neighborhood of your apartment is included in the price. You can arrange to meet the concierge upon your arrival into Paris (this is usually at a hotel) and they can assist you in talking to the bell desk in French (as only a Parisian knows how to do) to hold your bags for you until 4pm (usually for the cost of a tip per bag, so arrive with some euros handy). We highly suggest the concierge service.

How do I get into the apartment?

Just prior to your departure, you will receive the contact information for your Dedicated Arrival Manager (DAM) in Paris. They will also have your contact information. Your DAM will meet you at the apartment, give you keys and show you how things work in the apartment. Your DAM is your contact person while in Paris should you need something in the apartment, have a question about how something works in the apartment or if something needs to be fixed during your stay.

What happens if I lose my key to the apartment?

Please call your Dedicated Arrival Manager as soon as possible if you lose the keys to your apartment. You may also call CobbleStay at 1-800-608-6548.

Something isn’t working right in the apartment, what should I do?

Contact your Dedicated Arrival Manager if something isn’t working in the apartment. You may also call CobbleStay at 1-800-608-6548.

What time do I need to check out of the apartment?

Check out time is 10 am. In the event that you are leaving later in the day and you would like a later check out time, if the apartment is available, you may pay a late departure fee equal to 50% of a night’s stay. This must be arranged 1 week prior to your arrival and is subject to availability. Often times upon your departure, the apartment is cleaned immediately and the next guests arrive in the afternoon. Thank you for understanding our policy.

What if I need to cancel my reservation?

All reservations are completely non refundable unless filing a claim as covered under travel insurance. As long as you have purchased travel insurance from CobbleStay, you have the ability to cancel your booking for a covered reason. Download a sample copy of the terms and conditions of your plan for details of your policy if purchased through CobbleStay.
